The Handmade Quarterly
The Handmade Quarterly
THE HANDMADE QUARTERLY is a revolving local concert series presented by DJ Boy/ Annapolis Records and will be a celebration of new music, limited edition artwork and merchandise. This next volume will feature Pressing Strings, Mend The Hollow, Skribe, and more!
Pressing Strings
Pressing Strings
Pressing Strings is an soul stirring trio based out of the Maryland’s capitol city of Annapolis. Their sound is a blend of American Roots, Blues, Folk, Rock and Reggae. The music stems from lead singer Jordan Sokel’s bluesy and soulful songwriting and anchored firmly by drummer Brandon Bartlett and bassist Nicholas Welker. As a trio the band has performed and recorded relentlessly, consistently releasing new material. 2016 will see two new EP’s from the band. Five From Three (March 2016), a 5 track EP done mostly live with minimal overdubbing, and Most Of Us (summer 2016) which the band teamed up with producer Scott Jacoby (John Legend, Jose James, Vampire Weekend…) and engineer/producer Neil Dorfsman (Bruce Springsteen, Dire Straits, Bob Dylan…).
Mend The Hollow

Skribe (Solo)
Skribe (Solo)
kribe travels from town to town in a blue hearse spreading his own blend of garage folk: drawing from roots Americana & the 60's garage rock spirit. You may have seen skribe at Rhythm n Blooms Fest 2015 (Knoxville, TN) or the mainstage at FloydFest 2015/16.

Skribe plays an oil can called a canjo-zookie. It’s an eight-string guitar with a biting, blues-y rasp. Skribe’s got the voice (and the old-school Cadillac) to match. Accompanying himself on the suitcase-kick and hi-hat, Skribe’s “M.I.Y.” is a barn-burning roots number.
